This is what a feminist looks like.
A feminist who loves things like vintage fashion, math and the natural sciences, books, board games, tv-series, comics and the theater.
A feminist who hates the gender binary, bigotry and the misconception that a woman will always need and appreciate a man’s validation.
When people have a hard time understanding how I combine those likes and dislikes that tells me more about their narrow mindedness than I really wish to know. It makes me both sad and angry because that need to fit people into simple compartments is what makes most people hide the full extent of their personalities. To me, feminism is about the equality of all people but also about the freedom to chose your own life, your own preferences, your own hobbies and your own combination of these things without any regard to such an irrelevant thing as your sex.
I want to thank everyone on this page for proving that we are more than flat, uninteresting stereotypes. And a special thanks to Kelly Martin Broderick, who proved that it is sometimes possible to take back the power and control, even on the internet! <3
